When I first spoke with the Perkin’s family, I was amazed by the incredible journey they’ve been through. Baby Ava has older twin brothers, and the circumstances surrounding their birth showcase the immense resilience of this family. It all began during Hurricane Michael, a devastating category 5 storm that struck Panama City, FL.
Despite the hospital staff’s initial advice not to evacuate, they soon realized that the hurricane was changing course and posed a significant risk. With the safety of both Mom and the twins in mind, an out-of-state rescue team was called in to transport them to Pensacola, where the twins could be safely delivered.
Sadly, Hurricane Michael also wreaked havoc on their home, causing the loss to capture precious newborn images of their boys. Determined not to miss the opportunity this time, Mom and Dad were eager to create lasting memories with little Ava.
Ava was an absolute champ during her photo session. It took a bit of time to settle her into each table pose, but eventually, she drifted off to sleep, allowing me to capture stunning images that Mom and Dad will cherish as she grows older.
Next up, we ventured into swaddled prop poses. Baby Ava simply adored being wrapped up, creating a sense of warmth and comfort. Since she arrived around Easter, we couldn’t resist incorporating an adorable bunny stuffy into the scene. It was an absolute must!
Towards the end of the session, I always make it a point to capture some awake images, which I like to call “mugshots”. It’s fascinating to see how different babies react to this part of the session – some absolutely adore it, while others are not as thrilled. Well, little Ava was an absolute superstar! She showered me with her adorable personality shots, and I absolutely loved capturing each and every one of them!
