I thoroughly enjoyed getting to know The Fauth Family during their baby session, delving into their unique family story and the remarkable arrival of their little one, Jake. The story they shared was quite extraordinary, and I recognized the importance of capturing images that perfectly conveyed their journey.
Jake’s Story
Jake entered the world approximately 6 weeks early, weighing in at just 4lbs, but measuring an impressive 16 inches in length! His challenging delivery resulted in a couple of careful considerations during the session. I always prioritize the baby’s cues, ensuring their comfort in specific poses. If a pose doesn’t suit them, we seamlessly transition to another.
During his newborn baby session, Jake loved being swaddled up. The warmth and security of my wrapping made him feel right at home. Even when it was time to remove the wrap, my heater provided gentle warmth. It kept him comfortable, even though my studio was a cozy 80 degrees. Jake was keen on letting me know if he felt cold.
Jake’s mom purchased an adorable teddy bear outfit for his photoshoot, and once I dressed him in it, he instantly felt at ease, drifting off into a peaceful sleep. The heart-shaped bowl, a recent addition to my studio props, turned out to be the ideal complement for this adorable setup.
After capturing Jake’s individual images, it was time to document the family connection. Big brother Sam, filled with excitement and curiosity, observed closely as I held, posed, and swaddled his little brother. His face lit up with smiles when it was his turn to hold Jake. Sam attentively noticed every little detail, indicating from the start that these two are destined to be the best of friends!
Capturing baby expressions in mugshots is a cherished moment for both me and my clients during the reveal wall. There’s something captivating about conveying a baby’s personality through their facial expressions. Jake, in particular, presented a range of expressive looks, but the standout was the half-smile accompanied by eye contact—it was truly one of the best moments.
