Pregnancy is beautiful milestone in your life. OK, it isn’t always beautiful, it can be down right hard at times. Feeling tired, weight gain, swollen ankles, sore back and sleeping peacefully is sometimes a rare occasion. However, the sound of their heart beat, your growing belly, the little movements of your baby in your belly, feeling your baby’s hiccups and watching your baby grow during the ultrasounds, are all worth the final moment you get to hold your little one.
No matter how you feel about your amazing body during pregnancy, I highly recommend you capture this milestone in your life. Imagine when your little one is older, together you can pull out an album of images you captured when they were in your belly. You can tell them stories of what it was like and how it felt to be pregnant with them. Children love to hear stories about themselves and studies have shown that it gives them a sense of belonging.

When Should I Book My Maternity Session?
You can schedule your maternity session anytime. However, I strongly recommend booking your session with Pic a Posie Photography when you are around 20 weeks along to secure a spot on my calendar.
I limit the amount of maternity sessions I have each month to make sure I am available to each and every client. Being a Pic a Posie Photography client means you get a custom tailored, luxury experience. From the first inquiry to delivering your high quality heirloom products, I am just a phone call, text or email way! We will plan the perfect session together and discuss all the details.
My goal is to provide my clients with a fun and stress free experience during their session from the beginning to end. I take care of everything and guide you through the whole process. A few days before your session, I will send you a “What to Expect” email letting you know what will happen and some helpful tips and tricks. The day of your session, you arrive and I guide you into each pose. Making sure I capture all the beautiful and flattering angles to show off you and your baby bump.
When Is a Maternity Session Be Held?
Maternity sessions are best captured when you are between 32-34 weeks along. Your little baby bump will be showing and you will still be mostly comfortable to move around.
Maternity sessions can be held at my studio located in Gulf Breeze, Florida or at an outdoor location of your choice. Outdoor locations are offered during the months of October – April during sunrise or sunset hours. This is when the light is most flattering and we avoid any hot spots in your images. Trust me, it will be worth waking up early or waiting later in the evening to capture your images in this beautiful, soft light!
What Type of Maternity Sessions Do You Offer?
Pic a Posie Photography offers studio traditional sessions, studio lifestyle sessions and outdoor sessions. Choose a dress from my maternity closet or bring your own to the session. All sessions have the option to include your partner and other children and are up to 1 hour in length.
At booking, the session fee is due to hold your date and time. All products and digital images are purchased separately. You can invest in digital images only or create a collection by choosing products from a three step process. You only invest in products and images you love. To learn more, click here!
Studio traditional sessions are best described as images captured on a solid colored backdrop and back lit images. We will capture images of Mom alone, Mom with partner, Mom and other children, and the family together.
Studio lifestyle sessions are held close to a window for natural light and offer more candid images. Images will be focused on snuggling and detailed images. However, we will capture a few images of you looking at the camera. Those make for a perfect canvas piece!
Outdoor maternity sessions make for a gorgeous background. Whether it is the sunset, ocean or trees in the background, each session is different with what is captured depending on location. You will have a unique session that we planned together!
